Appointment of District Commissioner – Potteries North Scout District
After an extensive and comprehensive county volunteer appointment process, I am pleased to announce that Barry Walker has accepted the role of District Commissioner for Potteries North District effective from immediately.
I would like to thank Don Longhurst who has been holding the fort in the district during the search. Thanks Don it is much appreciated, and I am sure you will support Barry.
Handover arrangements have begun along with arranging continuing support for Barry in his role.
Barry has said “this is an amazing opportunity and I feel very honoured to be appointed as District Commissioner. I look forward to building on previous successes, integrating the teams, and further enabling outstanding Scouting opportunities to our young people and support to our adults.”
Once Barry has his feet under the table, I am sure he will be meeting with his district team to agree the way forward during these exciting times for scouting.
